As I thought, you have the power of the Hero inside you.
– Princess Zelda
Being the hero is something we all get a chance to do when we play video games. In life, we do not always feel so heroic. But it does not have to be that way. Being a hero is about mindset, beliefs, behaviors, and actions.
Being a hero is not something that you must wait for, complete a degree to obtain, or have a certain type of job to receive. Being a hero is something we all can do. It’s not always glamorous, and it seldom receives the attention it should, but we can all be a hero to someone else.
The thing about true heroes, is they are selfless. There are a lot of things that you can do to be a hero, but ultimately, you must do something for someone else.
Speak up. Stand up.
Take action. Stand firm.
Being a hero is not easy and it probably will be uncomfortable. It can also be lonely at times. But in the end, it is worth it for the difference you will make in the world around you and in the lives of others.
Who will you be a hero for today?

Whenever there is a meeting, a parting is sure to follow. However, that parting need not last forever. Whether a parting be forever or merely for a short time…That is up to you.
– Happy Mask Salesman
Things have a beginning and an ending. We often have control over what we allow to continue. When it comes to life, we are not promised a set number of days. We cannot choose the day and hour of our own “finish line.”
We can, however, choose our starting point. If you have been putting off starting something important, creative, or meaningful, now is the time to act. The best time to plant a tree is 100 years ago, the second best time to plant a tree is today.
What have you been putting off that you should do today?
What is the very first step you can take?
Go do that.

I personally have a strong distaste for education video games. Actually, I hate them. Here’s why:
Poor execution. The genre of game know “edutainment” suffers from not clearly understanding what it should be.
The worst offenders in this category try way too hard to be educational AND a video game, but end up failing at both. Here’s the real problem –
The Teaching Game Knows That it is a Teaching … Continue reading

It’s often sad to hear of a person’s unexpected passing, life is short, no matter how long it lasts.
I was reminded of this yet again with the passing of Robin Williams yesterday. Now, I’ll admit, while I was not the biggest Robin Williams fan, I really did enjoy much of his work. Of course there are many areas where my views about the world differ, but I enjoyed many of his great performances, … Continue reading
