Today’s post is a special recognition in honor of Veterans Day, celebrated on November 11th as a national day of recognition for the men and women who have served in the U.S. Military. I would like to express my gratitude for the sacrifices of the men, women, and families who have given so much for the sake of others. If you, or someone you love, have served in the U.S. Armed Services – thank you.
I would also like to take a moment to introduce a charity that seeks to provide support to the gamers in the military, Operation Supply Drop.
For more than 4 years, Operation Supply Drop has been delivering video games and gear to troops deployed in combat zones and recovering in military hospitals.
Their work has provided thousands of games and consoles to thousands of soldiers, providing much needed fun and distraction, a hobby to socialize around, while simultaneously sending the message of care and support.
Another important issue that video games address is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Research has demonstrated that video games contain powerful therapeutic elements that can reduce or even counter the harmful effects of PTSD.
Please consider supporting this great cause – for more information, check out the short video below and visit http://OperationSupply Drop.org
