Tidus & Yuna, Final Fantasy X
Yup. I’m a bit of a sappy romantic. I’ll admit it, I have cried more than once while playing video games. Final Fantasy VII started it, but Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy X really did it for me. The music, the story, and the atmosphere all work together in an amazing way. But I don’t want to say much more about games today, I want to talk about my wife of 12 years.
It’s hard to believe that it has already been 12 years. Then again, it is hard to remember a time before her and I were together.
In video games, “escort missions” are the worst. You usually play as a hero who is loaded up with weapons, tasked with defending a helpless computer-controlled NPC (Non-Playable Character). The AI is typically pretty bad, with the character you are responsible for protecting running right into trouble.
Just to be clear, my marriage has been nothing like that. My wife is one of the strongest women I know. I am so proud of her and her hard work as a wife, mother, student, and employee.
She’s pretty incredible.
