But courage need not be remembered… for it is never forgotten.
– Princess Zelda
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a remarkable game. Nintendo has done an incredible job of recapturing the experience of playing the original Legend of Zelda, while fully bringing the game into modern gaming standards.
Breath of the Wild includes many familiar elements, but just as many new ideas are introduced to the series. Before playing, it is easy to assume this game is just another Zelda title, only bigger. However, Nintendo took some risks in changing up the traditional approach to the series. That takes courage.
Any time we try something new, courage is required.
Sitting back and doing nothing, or worse, criticizing others, does not require courage. Speaking up and letting your unique voice be heard is an important step for anyone who wants to make anything better.
Indeed, courage is not forgotten…but it can be ignored, suppressed, or avoided.
Yet courage is also contagious. When one stands up for the truth or what is right, it wakes up courage in the hearts of others. Acting with courage is what every leader is called to do, and everyone who acts with courage becomes a leader – regardless of their title, age, gender or any other descriptor.
So where do you need courage in your life?
Here is another quote to ponder: “Sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage”
And no, I’m not suggesting that you go out and buy a zoo.
